BSC Nordic Ski Swap
If your boots have hobnails, your bindings have cables, your poles are
bamboo and your skis are flatter than a Saskatchewan landscape, then it's
way past time you upgraded your cross-country ski gear!
The Bruce Ski Club's
annual fundraising Ski Swap is the perfect place to begin! Whether you want
to sell off some of your older ski equipment or you're looking to pick up
some great bargains on gently used ski gear for yourself or a family member,
this is the event you've been waiting for!

Join us Saturday November 7, 2009
from 9:00 - 11:00 AM as SUNTRAIL plays host for this year's
Ski Swap. It's a great opportunity for you to see what's on offer,
find some real bargains and also purchase some of the great
new winter gear and clothing that's arriving at the store almost
daily.
Purpose Of Sale
This ski swap is for the benefit of the members of the BSC and the cross-country
skiing community. Please consider purchasing a membership to
support the BSC! All proceeds of this swap are used to maintain and
improve BSC trails and programs. SUNTRAIL Source for Adventure provides
facilities for the swap but is otherwise not involved.
Persons Selling Ski Equipment
- This sale is for cross-country ski equipment
only. BSC will help you set the selling price of your equipment.
Equipment not deemed worthy of sale may be refused. Three pin equipment
for adults does not sell well so we will not be placing them in the swap;
but we will accept children's three pin bindings.
- There is a $2.00 charge per ski set you bring to the Ski Swap,
which is non-refundable. (A complete set = poles, boots and skis).
This is payable when you drop off the equipment. Otherwise this will
be charged when payout is done. You will receive a receipt for the
material you drop off. Items may not be accepted after 9:00 AM the
day of the swap. Expensive items will not be auctioned off, but
will sell to the first buyer at the listed price.
- Equipment which does not sell must be picked up at SUNTRAIL
between Nov. 8th and Nov. 15th. Anything not picked up by this time
will become property of the Bruce Ski Club and may be disposed of.
You will be notified of equipment which does not sell at the swap.
- If your equipment sells, you may go to the "accountant" table
at the Swap with your receipt. Cheques for merchandise that has sold
will be available at SUNTRAIL from 1 PM on Sale Day. You will be given
the cash value of your selling price less a 10% commission and the $2 fee,
which is given to the BSC. Funds not picked up at the swap will be left
at SUNTRAIL until November 22rd and then cheques will be returned to the
Bruce Ski Club. Funds not picked up after one month will be donated to
the club.
Persons Buying Ski Equipment
- When you arrive at the swap each adult will be given one number.
We will start giving out numbers at 8:00 AM. (Numbers will not be given
out before 8:00.) This number determines your position in line to
purchase items. The Ski Swap will begin at 9:00 AM. At that time
numbers will be called to purchase items. Purchasers will be limited
to 2 packages / number. (A package is 1 pair of boots, skies, and poles).
When your number is called you will hand in your ticket, pick up your
items and proceed to the purchase counter.
- Prices are marked. All sales are final.
Cash or personal cheque only. No IOU's or credit cards. You will receive
a receipt for your purchase.
